Alumni
1. Andreina Guedez: received her Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in summer 2017. Andreina is from Caracas, Venezuela and has bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Metropolitana of Caracas. Her M.Sc. thesis title is: "Developing Correlations for Velocity Models in Vertical Transverse Isotropic Media: Bakken Case Study".
2. Peter Salvati: Born in New Jersey, Peter Salvati moved to Virginia to earn a Bachelor of Science in Physics-Engineering degree from Washington and Lee University in 2011. He began his professional career as a Mechanical Engineer in Houston, where he designed power stations and pipelines. After completing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and four years of professional engineering, he returned to school to pursue Master’s studies related to the Energy Industry. In summer 2017, Peter graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering degree. His M.Sc. thesis title is: "The Examination of Fracture Behavior in Anisotropic Rock with Digital Image Correlation".
3. George Parapuram: is a focused individual with an ardor towards "Energy". He has a keen passion towards energy optimization and works towards the improvement of energy efficiency. His current interest lies in the integration of petroleum systems with artificial intelligence; with the ultimate goal of achieving cost efficiency for the oil and gas industry. He received his M.Sc. degree in petroleum engineering from UL Lafayette in Fall 2017. His M.Sc. thesis title is: "Prediction and Analysis of Geomechanical Properties of the Upper and Middle Bakken Formation utilizing Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining". Publication: Parapuram G. Mokhtari M. and Ben Hmida J., 2018, An Artificially Intelligent Technique to Generate Synthetic Geomechanical Well Logs for the Bakken Formation, Energies, 11(3), 680: doi.org/10.3390/en11030680
4. Shuxian Jiang: Shuxian Jiang received her Ph.D. in Systems Engineering with a Petroleum Engineering option at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) in Fall 2018. Before that, she earned a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering in ULL in Spring 2016. In addition, she received her master’s and bachelor’s degree in Geology in China University of Petroleum (Beijing) from 2007 to 2014.From Fall 2019, she became a member of faculty in Petroleum Engineering Department of Southwest Petroleum University in China. Her current research interests include vertical heterogeneity in shale based on core and well log analysis, analysis of geomechanical properties of shale based on well log data and so on.
